Pink Cammies News:
1. We've recorded most of "Blood: the Song." What will this appear on?

2. Possibly on a Pink Cammies compilation of covers, b-sides, and live cuts. This is purely hypothetical at this point and completely superfluous.

3. Jeff's having a senior recital (he's a music major, you see) on April...21? That might be wrong. The Pink Cammies are performing three songs at this. Watch for details...or don't. I'm incredibly unreliable.

Are there any other Pink Cammies shows planned? No. But ask us to play somewhere and we just might. ANYTHING GOES!!!!

Lonely Hearts Club Ball!

The ball was an overwhelming success. Jen Syverud even went so far as to say it was "like the best show of [her] life." THANKS JEN SYVERUD!

People came from places as far off as SUNY Fredonia! Holy moly! How many people were there? Was it 100? Everyone also looked super sexy. Thanks so much for dressing up and THANK YOU FOR JUST BEING YOU.

Also thanks are in order for Jeff Wisniewski for setting everything up. JEFF YOU ARE MY FUCKING BOYFRIEND. Also thanks to Liz Boylan and Colleen Butler [and other people] for decorating the ball room. IT WAS A MAGIC NIGHT TO REMEMBER.

Right now the band is getting some "R&R" and spending band money on Leviathan rolls. Other things we are into right now: the new Spoon album, the Old Testament, the 1893 World's Fair, anthromorphic cats and regrets.

THE PINK CAMMIES LONELY HEARTS CLUB BALL

On Friday, February 11 the Pink Cammies will perform a free concert at the SUNY Geneseo Union Ballroom. The show will start promptly at 10pm and there will not be an opening act. This is a chance for you to put on a pretty dress our a nice jacket and warm up a date for Valentine's Day. That is to say formal wear is very encouraged but not neccessary. EVERYONE IS INVITED TO THIS MAGICAL EVENT. IT WILL BE A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.

2. ENCHANTE
Over winter break, Russell and I formed a twee pop band called Enchante. Common adjectives regarding Enchante are "So Cute," "Precious," and "Twee as fuck." We recorded a cover of My Bloody Valentine's "When You Sleep" but added what they forgot--"La-la-la's". Ahem...yeah.

3. BEAST INFECTION
Like Teen Wolf with a hacksaw and a Game Boy. I play bass; Jeff plays synths. This song was commissioned for the video game Wings of Megaira which is completely freaking awesome and free. Unfortunately the sound was cut from the game to make deadline and thus "Wolfsbane" never got a chance to party. RIYL: Ratatat, lasers, leveling up.

Back to school

Well the Pink Cammies are all back to school and we're working hard already. I'd like to thank every one who bought cds--they are only a few left. I won't say just how much money we've made but let's just it's a lot. But don't think that the money has changed us. Just because we can afford a new tamborine does not make us bad people.

Earlier in the week we had a band meeting in which we just talked about how awesome we are and took detailed notes. I know...we do this a lot I KNOW OKAY FINE SHUT UP.

There are three new Pink Cammies songs in the works. One has a Brazilian feel and is about pods. Not so much iPods as pods in general. It's sort of an abstract concept. TELL ME ABOUT YOUR POD. TOUCH ME ON MY POD. LET'S SNIFF GLUE IN MY POD. I think you get the picture. Another new song is a rousing dance number and the last one might also be about pods I don't quite know how far we're going to take this thing.

There is just chatter about an upcoming show. I can't say much but Liz Boyland is the mastermind behind it and it will probably be called "the Pink Cammies Lonely Hearts Club Ball" and you will probably need a tie or a wrist corsage.

Well, the Bug Jar show went as well as it could've. I had no voice and Jeff had a fever or something but we did our best! Thanks to everyone who came out and danced like crazy and bought cds. YOU ARE THE SEXIEST COMMANDOS OF ALL.

BIG SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT

On THURSDAY, DECEMBER 9 at 8pm THE PINK CAMMIES WILL BE PERFORMING at the BUG JAR on Monroe Ave in Rochester NY. We will be playing with Kalpana and Vera. Kalpana are so hot right now. They sent us some posters that are creepy and atmospheric.
ALSO...I don't mean to be making crazy promises here but our new cd ep "GAME OVER BABY" will DEFINITELY BE DONE AND FOR SALE. I mean...I know we're not quite done recording everything and of course nothing is really mixed and we haven't ordered any of the cds or liner notes or anything but I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that I PROMISE ON MY HEART OF HEARTS THAT OUR CD WILL READY FOR PURCHASE ON THE NINTH OF DECEMBER AND IF IT'S NOT THEN MAY THE GOOD LORD STRIKE ME DEAD. Yes.
Cds will be five dollars. Admission is $5/$7under. So bring ten or twelve dollars and maybe a few more dollars for a Slushee at 7-11 after the show so I guess plan on bringing like 12 dollars or 14 dollars if you're not 21 OH! unless you want to get a few more copies of the cd for Christmas presents for people! So bring like 17 dollars or maybe 19 dollars. Damn 19 dollars for a show who do we think we are U2 or something dang I mean really but 19 dollars should be enough. JB and "the INCIDENT"

Word so last saturday the Pink Cammies played a show at Jen Bruno's 21st birthday party. We were all flavors of pumped and I even put on a clean shirt. The PA was turned up to "awesome" and we had a hell of slew of new songs and dang we were looking good--man I mean REAL good. Anyways--two songs into the set--ladies are all sorts of shimmy-ing--and who knocks on the door but UNCLE DICK. That's right I'm talking about none other than John Law himself--THE FUZZ. They shut down the party--even had the chochangas to call us "Unreasonable noise." NO FOR REAL--UNREASONABLE NOISE. So the party broke up man what a drag. If you get the chance today, give a cop a real mean look. Maybe even mumble some swear under your breath or something. We all know that synth-pop can never die though! YOU HEAR ME GENESEO POLICE DEPARTMENT? SYNTH POP CAN NEVER DIE!!!!!

So anyways my hair is getting so long that these days I can't eat soup without getting a big hairy mouthful. Gonn' give it a CHOP.

Today we recorded some vocals for a song called "teenage car." Its a real pop gem. This song focuses more on fake country/western guitar riffs and fuzz bass solos than any microhouse or breakbeat influences that we have been dealing with. The song clocks in at 5 minutes as it races to a halt just in time. Its being mixed to bring Jeff's rhythm guitar right to the front. He's really holding it all together.

Recording will continue at a rate limited by obsessive compulsive attention to detail until everything is absolutley perfect i.e. SMILE or Chinese Democracy.

Recently the band has been listening to the DFA comp #2. Its got a good beat.

We're still doing lots of recording (in the studio). Today we put down a few tracks and cut them into wax. There is no release date: don't worry.

today we worked on one of the songs for our ep. there is so much compression and distortion that no one can tell if its lo-fi or hi-fi. i think we need more of both and that a healthy dose of reverb will balance it out. i hate hearing natural sounds (that aren't compressed). we were using an i-book to record because they are so fucking trendy. its all white and shiny. the program is called "garage band" and only technocrats with big fat checkbooks can use it. the vocals are totally aggro. contrary to popular belief, the ep will not be called "butts to you." it will be untitled and the tracks will not have names. the cover will be white.

17:07 Band secretary, Brad Kerr, introduces the meetings keynote speaker--Russell Lake
17:07 Russell Lake delivers "State of the Band Union Address." He starts by thanking the band and, with the help of an A/V backdrop courtesy Jeff Gilbert, delivers a short history of the Pink Cammies. With the band's formitive experimental days long behind and with a small but loyal fan following now developing, Lake believes that we are in "PHASE 3" of the band's existence. He believes that PHASE 3 should be characterized by distortion peddles.
17:14 Brad Kerr takes podium. He believes that the Pink Cammies should put forth all energies into recording and releasing an ep. Suggested titles include, "Game Over, Baby", "Butter the Rim", "Butts to You", and "Vaguely Dirty." All are vetoed.
17:19 Jeff Gilbert states that band energies should be focused on new songs with a heavy emphasis on dance numbers.

Okay yes! The Pink Cammies successfully conquered SUNY Fredonia last night with a combination of boss jackets and HOT ROCK. Thanks to everyone who made the drive, missed some sort of baseball game or whatever who cares, danced, bought us burritos, AND BLAH BLAH BLAH good show thanks everybody okay!!!

The Pink Cammies have holed themselves into the Super-Hits factory aka WGSU STUDIOS (aka an 8-track recorder, a radio shack microphone and a bottle of cherry coke) to record a cd ep. Where once only rumors only existed about PC recordings FACTS NOW EXIST. The grammar of that last sentence may be dubious but the reality of this cd is certainly not.

Autumnal Equinox

The show with the Detachment Kit was great fun thanks to The Detachment Kit themselves, Mike Morrissey and the countless music fans that showed up. The ballroom is quite a classy place. The lighting scheme is very futuristic and the maple floor is sturdy enough to play nine pin on. Geneseo spares no expense when it comes to building ballrooms.

The Pink Cammies are going to play another show at 8 PM on October 20th in Fredonia, New York. We will be playing with The Only Children and From Here to Madrid. The show is free and will be held at The Spot in the Williams Center on the college campus.

'Insider' Info Puts City Blogs on the Map

Blogs are changing the way that I think about New York City and (The) Pink Cammies. They really level the playing field for poor people who don't have real web sites. This is my first blog post ever on a blog, but hopefully soon I will be snatched up by a real blog firm with mad revenue from google ads and stuff to write about. I'm holding out for a big offer.

The Pink Cammies are still on hiatus: a summer vacation. Mikesperience and Brad introduced me to a one man supergroup from Vermont called The Capstan Shafts. He's doing everything right. http://www.asaurus.org/
